Walking is an activity many of us enjoy. The gentle rhythmic movement is very grounding and, of course, being outdoors in nature can feel very uplifting; when did you ever come back from a walk feeling worse than you did when you left home?
Another thing which supports our well-being is connection with other people. We are social animals, so whether it’s a light-hearted chat with a neighbour about the weather, or a heart-to-heart with a friend, spending time with others is important.
With these things in mind, I’m starting a monthly well-being walking group. It’s open to everyone – adults, children and four-legged friends. The walks will be leisurely, in some of the lovely open spaces on the Wirral, lasting around 1.5 to 2 hours. This isn’t a therapy group, it’s simply a group to enjoy a walk with. It’s free to join in, so why not come along and give it a go?
If you’d like to join in, get in touch (you can use the contact form on my website), or keep an eye out for the dates, which I’ll post here in the next few days.
